Bri Nelson
Owner & Director / Combo Instructor / Tumbling Instructor
Bri has been teaching dance and tumbling for over 20 years. She loves interacting with the kids and helping them to believe in themselves as they learn and grow into talented dancers and gymnasts. When Bri was a young child she started dancing and has continued dancing throughout her life. During her elementary school years, she was a gymnast and a member of the competitive gymnastics team in her community. She also performed with children’s musical and theatrical groups throughout her childhood. In high school, Bri was a member of The Elite Dance Force in Jerome, Id. While attending college, she danced for ISU on their Theater Dance Company, Danson. She has taught dance and tumbling at various studios throughout Southern Idaho. In 2004, she opened up her own dance studio in Twin Falls Idaho. Since then, wherever her and her husband move to she continues to teach and spread her love of dance and tumbling. In 2010 she moved to Meridian and began Motions Dance Studio. Bri feels dancing is her gift to share with others! She strives to run a modest dance studio, in price, moves, and attire, where all can enjoy and love dance! Bri teaches Dance and Tumbling for ages 2-18.
Cyndi Lambertsen
Assistant Director / Cheer Instructor / Hip Hop Instructor
When Cyndi was a teenager and she attended her first pep rally, she saw the cheerleaders stunting and she said, “That’s what I want to do!” From there Cyndi went on to become a cheerleader for the next three years. She also enrolled in bi-weekly tumbling classes. She has a love of cheer and dance and she wants to introduce a new generation to the sport of cheerleading. She shares the desire to give kids a chance to cheer in a positive, modest, and family friendly environment. Cyndi loves teaching dance, cheer, and tumbling at Motions!
Emily Sperry
Clogging Instructor
Emily has danced, performed and taught clogging for over 15 years. Her instruction has ranged from college level performers to elementary school beginners and everything in between. As either a performer or instructor Emily has been a part of countless award winning competition teams and routines. Despite her competitive success, Emily is most proud of her time clogging professionally for the Branson Brothers in Missouri, performing in Dollywood Tennessee, traveling through Europe on an International Folk Dance Team and teaching the darling 3rd Graders in her after-school program. Emily loves to teach; has a Masters in Elementary Education and makes dance fun and exciting for beginners. Emily is excited to share her experience and knowledge with Motions Dance Studio, so bring your taps and Clog-on!
Hannah Petersen
Ballet Instructor / Combo Instructor
Hannah fell in love with dance at a very young age! She first attended ballet classes through her homeschool group at the age of five and then moved on to continue her ballet training with River City Dance in Lewiston, ID. She was also able to dabble in many other dance styles including tap, jazz, lyrical, and modern. Through River City Dance she performed in many productions across the Lewis-Clark Valley, including many community outreach performances. She began teaching and assisting dance classes in high school. Hannah is now a happy wife to her amazing husband and a proud mommy to her beautiful baby girl. Her daughter is her inspiration and her future little ballerina! She is excited to pass on her passion and knowledge of dance to your young dancers and instill in them discipline and creativity. Hannah believes that dance is an amazing way for young girls to learn to express themselves and to build their self- esteem. She is thrilled to be a part of Motions Dance Studio!
Nickie Astin
Combo Instructor
Nickie loves to dance! She have been boogieing since she was 3 years old, and has never stopped! Her goal in life is to have a famous Youtube video of her as an old lady getting down to some funky beats! She have a wonderful husband who tolerates her boogieing and is very supportive (because he knows how happy it makes her), and 3 kids who boogie in the kitchen with her on a regular basis! She loves teaching dance to little peoples, it is her joy in life and she loves passing it on to others! She really has danced almost her whole life, and all she can say is it’s wonderful and the best form of therapy out there!
Katy Leonard
Tumbling Instructor
Katy started dance and gymnastics at the age of 2. She started out at her neighborhood community center and went on to compete in gymnastics for 10 years. She was very dedicated and competed at a national level. Wanting to try something different Katy went on to join competitive Cheer leading also competing at a national level. Katy began teaching tumbling as an after school job when she was in high school. Being born and raised in Southern California, Katy moved to this area for the wonderful family and community environment. She has two daughters that are already following in her footsteps and so she gets to continue with her love for dance and tumbling with them being involved in Motions as well.
Janese Botelho
Capoeira Instructor
Janese began her journey into the Brazilian culture ten years ago when she married one. Since that time she has dedicated much of her time to learning the culture and language so that her children can understand that part of their heritage. Her interest in Capoeira began 8 years ago when her first child was born. When they moved to Boise she was sad to find no place for her children to learn this amazing Brazilian martial art/dance form. So, she did the legwork to bring it to Motions Dance and is now excited to play an even more active role by teaching it to any in the community who have a desire to experience this small taste of Brazilian culture.
Allie Fullmer
Combo Instructor
llie Fullmer has had a love for dance ever since the age of seven when she began her first dance lesson. She grew up in Boise and graduated from Centennial High School, where she danced with the Sweet Liberty Dance Team. During this time, Allie placed in many competitions at the State, Regional, and National levels. Trained professionally in jazz, lyrical, contemporary and ballet Allie brings a wealth of dance skill to her students at Motions Dance Studio. While earning her bachelor’s degree in Communication from Brigham Young University-Idaho (2006) she taught dance classes, both group and individually. Allie and her husband Peter are the proud parents of three beautiful daughters. You will often see them having crazy dance parties in their living room. She is proud to share her passion for dance with her family. Her goal is to help every child understand that anyone can dance with determination and hard work.
Chalet Schow
Combo Instructor
Chalet started dancing at the early age of three years old. Her dance career started at Studio C Academy of Dance in Eagle, Idaho where she participated in ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and tap classes. While at Studio C, she had the opportunity to compete at various competitions including those of a national level. When she entered the eighth grade and learned that her middle school was not offering a dance team at the time, she decided to give cheerleading a try. She enjoyed her time doing that for one short year! During her high school years, she had the privilege to be a Diamond Dancer on Rocky Mountain High School’s dance team. She had the time of her life doing that for all four years in high school! While on the high school dance team, she had the opportunity to compete in many state and national level competitions. She was honored to be the team captain her senior year when they won their first ever State Champion title. Chalet enjoyed high school dance team so much that she came back two years after she had graduated to help assistant coach at Rocky Mountain High School for one dance season. Dancing takes her to her happy place and she loves helping others find their happy place in dance!
Kelsey Thomson
Combo Instructor
Kelsey has been dancing for a total of 7 years. She started when she was 4 years old only taking ballet classes. after two years she decided that she wanted to try something else so she started gymnastics and competed for 8 years. When she turned 12 Kelsey decided that she really missed dance and wanted to start up again. So she joined a team at Studio C Academy of Dance and competed with them for 4 years. One of her proudest accomplishments being apart of this studio was winning first place with her senior solo at Nexus Dance Competition and Convention. Kelsey has also been apart of the Capital High School Golden Girls Dance Team her whole high school career. In that time she has helped the team bring home 4 national titles and qualify for the Idaho State Dance and Cheer Championships twice. Kelsey is currently attending BSU working towards her bachelor’s degree. Dance has always been important to Kelsey and she has fallen completely in love with the lifestyle. Some of her other hobbies include photography and creating videos, but dance will always hold a special place in her heart forever. She is so excited to be apart of this studio and loves working with all the kids and sharing that love of dance with them.
Elise Lorcher
Hip Hop Instructor
“Whether you’re 4, or 54, you’re never too old to dance!” Elise has been dancing since she first heard music blasting on her dad’s stereo! Where ever there is a good beat you will find her moving to the rhythm and singing along regardless of genre. Elise started hip-hopping around during her middle and high school cheerleading days up until her freshman year at the University of Idaho. In college, she challenged her dance skills and discovered her passion for modern country swing and ballroom dancing. Elise has been professionally teaching dance since 2009, integrating and blending different dance styles and technique. Currently, Elise began mixing country swing and line dance with hip-hop beats into choreographing her own “hick-hop” style. She has worked with all ages, from small cheer camps of 4-year-olds, to country swing dance of 50-year-olds. Elise enjoys sharing her passion with others on or off the dance floor. Her favorite part of dancing is “watching the butterfly emerge” when people of all ages become more comfortable and confident in expressing themselves through dance. Elise is a proud mama of her daughter Charleigh May (a student in Motions Dance Studio); together they love dancing in the kitchen, practicing cartwheels, and frying scrambled eggs.
Rachel Rudishauser
Combo Instructor
Rachel started off in ballet and grew up learning many forms of dance from tap, to jazz and hip hop. In high school, she was apart of her high school cheer squad. In 2012 she had a little girl named Brynlee who has wanted to dance ever since she could walk. Rachel has a love for kids and is inspired to teach them to be the best they can be. Her fun loving and supportive attitude will be a great addition to the team here at Motions Dance Studio!
